Q: Does this message series contain small group materials as well? I'm looking for curriculum to use for a retreat that includes both large group and small group sessions. It would be helpful if there were already small group questions to accompany the large group messages.

Q: Why is the first message supported solely by psalms? Why isn't there any New Testament in the first session?

A: This response is from the developer of the program. "We have students focus on two sets of Psalms because the Psalms are the richest environment to explore the range of emotions expressed directly to God. The Psalms are like reading a person's private journal entries to God—the idea is to expand the parameters of our relationship with Jesus to include all of our emotions, not just the positive ones. If intimacy with Jesus is the goal—and that is exactly the goal that Jesus has with us—then we need to help kids get comfortable "de-compartmentalizing" their relationship with Him. It's a real relationship that includes real emotions. This is just the first in the series, so we spend plenty of time in the New Testament in the rest of the series, and these references to the Psalms are put in the context of a relationship with Jesus, a New Testament reality."
