Scope & Sequence

The Most Important Part

Many small churches piece together lesson books or short themes that don't contribute to a big picture, but Two or More includes a strategy to walk kids through the Bible in fresh ways each year. Take kids on a journey that's written by experienced children's leaders and experts in faith formation. Every five years, you can restart the cycle as new kids enter your ministry.

  • Kids go through the Bible every 12 months
  • Each quarter includes lessons from both Old and New Testaments
  • Three themes per quarter connect the dots between lessons
  • Lessons are arranged to tell the whole story of God's love—without relying on weekly attendance

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Smaller churches have the superpower to help kids be seen, known, and loved. When there are fewer people, you can’t help but have more opportunities to connect with kids and their families. With a small group of kids, you have the flexibility to be more creative and responsive. Two or More leans into these strengths with unique activities and experiences that work well for all ages and bring both kids and volunteers closer to Jesus and each other.

Don’t forget—Jesus can do a lot with small. He compared faith to a mustard seed, fed thousands with a small offering of food, and invested his time in close relationships with a few.

You can do the same in your ministry to kids.

After listening to the needs of hundreds of small churches, Group identified the key features required for a curriculum to be successful in a small children’s ministry. Then our children’s leaders curated and redesigned activities from DIG IN to meet those needs. This resulted in a 5-year lesson plan that specifically tackles the unique challenges small churches face with weekly children’s ministry.

Two or More is ideal for churches who see fewer than 20 kids on a given Sunday. If you regularly have a group of 10-20 kids, we recommend separating preschoolers and doing Two or More in two groups. If you’re consistently seeing more than 20 kids at a time, our other Group Sunday school solutions might be a better fit for your church. If you have any questions about which curriculum is best for you, call 1-800-447-1070 to speak with one of our children’s ministry experts.

Your Leader Pack is a spiral-bound quarterly leader guide that includes an access code for printable versions of the leader guides and more resources in Group’s Digital Download Center. The online resources include a graphics package, take-home pages, and music videos.

If you purchase the Digital Only version, you immediately receive an access code for all of these digital resources and printable leader guides (PDF). You will not receive the physical books in the mail.

It’s just like when a family goes on a road trip or visits a theme park! Kids of mixed ages will experience the same thing, but each child will walk away with an age-appropriate application to their lives. The activities in Two or More can be done individually or in a small group, so you can decide what’s best for the kids you have each week. Kids of mixed ages also learn to help each other, which builds confidence, eliminates competition, reduces discipline problems, and builds strong relationships.

We’ve learned that many small churches prefer to separate preschoolers when there’s a handful of little ones under age 5. Two or More lets you decide (even last-minute!) if the preschoolers should go with another leader. The Only Preschoolers leader guide covers the same lesson content and Bible Point, but at a preschool level.
