International Peru

Amazon Riverboat Adventure

Relational Ministry

The Adventure

Village, Local Church, Boat

Ancient Indian ruins, along with historical Spanish palaces and cathedrals, make Peru a country filled with culture, beauty, and adventure! Bordering the Pacific Ocean, it touts a subtropical coast, along with the Andes mountains, sand dunes, tropical rainforest, and the legendary Amazon river. Because of all its natural and historical features, Peru truly offers unique adventures for every person.

Though the Inca Empire is best known, Peru was once home to a plethora of tribes. Opportunities to experience ancient sites in Peru abound—ancient peoples left behind weavings, pottery, and gold and silver work. When the Spanish conquistador, Francisco Pizarro came on the scene in 1532, the ancient civilizations began to decline, adding a strong Spanish cultural presence.

With Group’s Lifetree Adventures, you’ll first fly into Lima, and then take a short domestic flight to the Amazon river to begin your mission. Traveling, living, and sleeping on a river boat, you’ll visit five villages over the course of several days to minister to children and adults. You’ll have an opportunity to give gifts you’ve made ahead of time, play soccer, and interact with village adults.

The Service

Visit and serve five river villages! Whether you're playing soccer with kids or interacting with adults, your river expedition will be the adventure of a lifetime. You'll spend the week ministering in various settings:

  • Village
  • Local Church
  • Boat

Enjoy the legendary Amazon River and the unique rainforests that Peru has to offer while you're meeting needs in small villages!
