International Peru

Amazon Riverboat Adventure

The Adventure

Ancient ruins, along with historical Spanish palaces and cathedrals, make Peru a country filled with culture, beauty, and adventure! Bordering the Pacific Ocean, it offers a subtropical coast, along with the Andes mountains, sand dunes, tropical rainforest, and the legendary Amazon River. Peru offers unique adventures for every person.

Though the Inca Empire is best known, Peru was once home to a plethora of tribes. Ancient people left behind weavings, pottery, and gold and silver work. When the Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro came on the scene in 1532, the native civilizations began to decline, adding a strong Spanish cultural presence.

With Group’s Lifetree Adventures, you’ll fly into Lima, and then take a short domestic flight to the Amazon River to begin your mission. Traveling, living, and sleeping on a riverboat, you’ll visit five villages over the course of several days to minister to children and adults. You’ll have an opportunity to give gifts you’ve made ahead of time, play soccer, and share the love of Jesus as you work and play alongside Peruvian families.

The Service

Visit and serve five river villages! Whether you're playing soccer with kids or interacting with adults, your river expedition will be the adventure of a lifetime. You'll spend the week ministering in various settings:

  • Village
  • Local Church
  • Boat

Enjoy the legendary Amazon River and the unique rainforests that Peru has to offer while you're meeting needs in small villages!

The Faq

Anyone with a heart to serve others and a desire to grow closer to God is welcome to join us on a Lifetree Adventure. We welcome a blend of individuals and groups. International Lifetree Adventures are ideal for any group from your church, an individual with a heart for Christian service, or any configuration of families. Truly any variety of ages, groups, and backgrounds are welcome. Your mission adventure concierge can give you more details, and help you discover which trip is best for you and/or your group.

The Lifetree Adventures team provides care to nearly all the details of your trip, including lodging, meals, project coordination and supplies during the mission experience, discipleship programming and materials, on-site support crew, and a T-shirt for every participant.
