Visit the ancient Pyramids and the Sphinx, experience 5,000 years of history at the Egyptian Museum, explore the Abdeen Palace, or buy souvenirs and crafts at the large Arabian marketplace—all in the city of Cairo, Egypt. You’ll have opportunities to ride a camel, to visit the place where Jesus’ family lived as refugees, and to partake in a variety of other adventures.
Despite its rich culture and intriguing travel opportunities, Egypt has many areas of great need. With more than 200,000 refugees and asylum seekers (registered with UNICEF) from 58 different nationalities, Egypt is taxed with more than one country can handle. In addition to its refugee population, disadvantaged locals, orphanages, and disregarded children abound.
In partnership with Group’s Lifetree Adventures® and a reputable international organization ministering in the country, you’ll work with African refugees—distributing food packets to families and investing quality time with their children.
You’ll be able to serve at an orphanage and interact with disabled children and staff, along with offering aid and prayer to poor families. With the local church, you’ll organize a Sunday school program and participate in a prayer boat ride on the Nile.
Experience a country rich in history with lots of modern-day ministry needs. You'll have a chance to impact both refugees and locals during your time in Egypt! Work shoulder to shoulder with great, local ministry partners and help with:
- Food Distribution
- Garbage City
- Local Church
As you serve, you'll explore the local culture and even take a prayer boat ride on the Nile River!
Anyone with a heart to serve others and a desire to grow closer to God is welcome to join us on a Lifetree Adventure. We welcome a blend of individuals and groups. Our domestic mission trips are designed with youth groups in mind, but many of our international trips are ideal for youth groups, too. International Lifetree Adventures are ideal for any group from your church, an individual with a heart for Christian service, or any configuration of families. We’ve had parent/child travelers looking to share an experience before high school graduation, women’s groups, a group of families from a congregation, men’s groups, and individuals seeking a new adventure. Truly any variety of ages, groups, and backgrounds are welcome. Your mission adventure concierge can give you more details, and help you discover which trip is best for you and/or your group.
The Lifetree Adventures team provides care to nearly all the details of your trip, including lodging, meals, project coordination and supplies during the mission experience, discipleship programming and materials, on-site support crew, and a T-shirt for every participant. The fee does not include transportation or meals to and from the trip location or during your time off.
