InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA has contracted with Group's Church Volunteer Central to obtain background information reports.
InterVarsity will pay the fees associated with obtaining background information reports for the following:InterVarsity covers the cost of background checks for
- Newly hired paid staff and new volunteer staff;
- Participants, paid staff and volunteer staff working with children or at-risk adults in any InterVarsity-sponsored International or U.S.-based program (i.e., planned and/or attended by staff); and
- Summer camp crew, accepting Internationals.

Permission to Obtain a Background Information Report
("Notice, Authorization and Release for the Procurement of a
Consumer and/or Investigative Consumer Report")
This form authorizes InterVarsity to obtain background information and must be completed by the applicant. InterVarsity retains a confidential record of this agreement on file for a minimum of two years.
I, the undersigned applicant (also known as “consumer”),authorize InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA ("InterVarsity")through its independent contractor, LexisNexis Risk Management (“LNRM”), to procure background information (also known as a “consumer report and/or investigative consumer report”) about me. I understand that this authorization and release is valid for future background information requests during my period of service with InterVarsity for the purpose of investigating any incidents of workplace misconduct or criminal activity for which I am alleged to have been involved during my service. These above-mentioned reports may include my driving history, including any traffic citations; a social security number trace; present and former addresses; criminal and civil history/records; any other public record.
I further authorize any person, business entity or governmental agency that may have relevant information to disclose it to InterVarsity through LNRM, specifically limited to any courts, public agencies, law enforcement agencies and credit bureaus.
I understand that I am entitled to a complete copy of any background information report of which I am the subject upon my written request to InterVarsity, if such is made within a reasonable time from the date it was produced. I also understand that upon request, I may receive a written summary of my rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
For California residents, the results of your own background information report may be sent to you via mail upon request. To receive your background information report, please send your request to the InterVarsity HR Department at: supportsolutions@intervarsity.org . Please include your name and mailing address in the request.
