Dining and Hotel

  • When I make my hotel reservation, do I need to pay the entire cost of my room upfront?
Our hotel contracts are set so that either a credit card or debit card holds a reservation without any charge to the card. Once guests arrive on site and check in, they are requested to provide a card to guarantee payment. Credit cards are not charged until checkout. Debit cards debit the account upfront to secure payment. Cancellation may be done without any charges up to 48 hours prior to booked arrival date. This applies to anyone making guest reservations in the block of rooms held for KidMin.
  • How do I get to the hotel and back to the airport?
KidMin has negotiated a special rate with Columbus Coach for arrival and departure ground transportation to the KidMin conference hotels:  $10.00 each way. Those with reservations will be allowed to board the shuttle first. Shuttle rides will be available for cash purchase at the airport as well. Reservation information will be available soon.
  • Where can I find parking?
Click here for a map that will show you all the parking available around the Hyatt Regency Columbus and the Columbus Convention Center.
  • Are meals included in the registration fee?
While meals are not included in the registration fee, Columbus has TONS of food options both on site and within a few blocks of the hotel. We are in downtown Columbus—it is such a wonderful area you may enjoy going out for a couple of meals.

    On site there is:

KidMin General Conference Questions

  • Will session recordings be available for purchase?
Audio recordings of nearly all the training sessions will be available to conference attendees for purchase so those that you’re unable to get to—or those you loved so much you’d like to have a recording—will be available for you to take home for continued learning. The only sessions we often do not record are pre-conference sessions, ministry conversations, those focused on technology, those sessions involve a lot of visual teaching and don’t translate well to an audio recording. General sessions will be available for purchase on DVD for all keynote speakers who have released recording rights.
  • How do I sign up for tracks and workshops?
There is no need to sign up for tracks, half-tracks, and workshops ahead of time. Simply go to the ones you’d like to attend when you get to KidMin! Please note: If you wish to attend a Friday pre-conference session, you do need to register and pay an additional $59 per person.
  • Is KidMin sponsored by a certain church denomination?
As part of Group Publishing, Inc., KidMin is interdenominational and we aim to serve our friends in ministry from all Christian denominations.
  • Is child care provided and/or nursing facilities?
Child care is not provided. If you’ll be bringing your little ones, we encourage you to look into bringing a friend or family member with you to look after your kiddos while you’re attending conference sessions. We do provide a Nursing Mothers Room and will designate its location on the conference map. We have looked into on-site child care with a licensed and insured child care company, but since it would cost about $150 per day per child, this is not an affordable option for our attendees and we will not be offering this service.
  • Does KidMin offer scholarships?
At this time, no scholarship programs are available. Many of our friends in ministry have raised funds through their churches and communities to help cover the costs of airfare, hotel stay, and meals while at the conference.

It's your responsibility to update payments in your account, which can be done anytime online or by calling 800.635.0404 x4692. If you registered for KidMin 2014 onsite at KidMin 2013, your balance must be paid in full by June 2, 2014.  If everything isn’t paid in full by June 2, 2014, we’ll charge the rest to your credit card on file. • What is the cancellation policy?

    Cancellation of Registration

If your plans change after you register, you can substitute a guest at no additional charge by modifying your account information online or by calling 800.635.0404 x4692. In the case of cancellation, you must call 800.635.0404 x4692. You may cancel up to 60 days prior to the conference for a refund, less a $50 administrative fee per person. Cancellations within 60 days of the event (after July 31, 2014) will receive a credit (*push-forward registration) to attend the 2015 KidMin Conference if the registration was paid in full. If only deposits have been paid, the registration will be cancelled, less a $50 administrative fee per person. No refunds or credits can be given for no-shows or cancellation within 14 days prior to the event. * * Please note that as part of our push-forward registration policy, if you are unable to attend the 2015 KidMin conference, you can substitute someone at any time. However if you are unable, to find a substitution, the registration(s) are lost and no refunds are given.

Cancellation of the Conference/Local Weather Policy

In the event of an emergency or bad weather in the local area that leads to the closure of our conference facility, your safety is our first priority. If bad weather significant enough to cancel the conference is imminent, we'll update you by email and update the conference website with the event status. If the conference were to be cancelled in its entirety, we would automatically offer a full refund of the registration fee or the option of transferring your payment to the 2015 KidMin Conference.

    Non-Local Weather Policy

Within 24 hours before the start of the event if severe weather affects other parts of the country and inhibits travel due to full airport closure or official "state of emergency" travel restrictions, you must contact us by phone or email to give notice of severe weather-related cancellation. Upon confirmation of severe weather status before 5:00 pm on September 25, 2014, we'll credit you for the KidMin Conference 2015. No refunds will be given in any case, and no credits will be given for no-shows without confirmation prior to September 25, 2014.
